Everything else may fail, But not God

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength[a] of my heart and my portion forever.

When you were younger did you have one person you loved spending time with? Did they ever promise you that they would do something and they didn’t? It probably wasn't intentional, but they just couldn’t do it. How does that make you feel? upset, hurt, or angry.

Well into’s day verse, we see that it says our flesh and heart may fail us. That also means things of this world and people. The writer of the psalmist, had already been through so much, so he knew! He knew that God was the only one there for him.

Sometimes, we can put too much hope and trust in things and people in the world that we forget about where our true hope and trust lies. Those things and those people will let you down, but God won’t.

On today, I want to encourage us to stray away from the high hopes of man and worldly things and lean more towards true hope and trust in God. We see things in a different light, once we truly put our trust and hope in him.

Yes, WE may get upset or sad because we don’t know how are when He's going to do it, BUT AT LEAST WE KNOW THAT HE IS GOING TO DO IT! And that's all that matters because we're dealing with a great God.

I love this song by Maverick City. The lyrics are so true. My God did not fail and its the story I tell. We will all have that testimony one day. Just continue to put your hope and trust in Jesus.
