Being Hidden in Christ

Colossians 3:3

For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ 

What does it mean for your life to be hidden with Christ?

In the previous verses, Paul talks about being raised with Christ and setting our minds on things above and not of this earth, which leads us to the verse of today, “For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ.”

Because we have died with Christ and are now hidden in Him, we can set our minds on things above and not on this earth. Romans 12, tells us to not be confirmed to the pattern of the world but to transferred by the renewing of your mind that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

With all that being said, it’s no longer what we want to do but as Christ calls us to do. When you’re hidden in Him, that means that when people see you, they see Christ. Your everyday choices should be made based on a heavenly response.

Another verse that goes along with this topic is that we must decrease so that Christ can increase in our lives. The word hidden means to cover, hide, or conceal. Psalms 27:5-6, it talks about God being our dwelling place and how he will hide one in the shelter of his sacred tent.

Being hidden in Christ allows him to be strong and at the forefront of our life. He is our protector, and we can overcome anything with him.
